S bends and crescents

Above is a photograph demonstrating the ‘S bends or Crsents’. The road is twisting in the shape of an S which makes the viewer automatically follow the road with their eyes.

Rule of thirds

Above is a photograph demonstrating the ‘rule of thirds’. If there were a grid of 9 squares ontop of the picture the horizon would line up closely with one of the horizontal lines, which would be one of the lines of interest.

Fill the frame

Above is a photograph demonstrating the ‘fill the frame’. In the photograph is a picture of a ship which takes up a prodominant amount of the photo.
